A configuration can be setup for any of the supported memory devices that can read memory contents from a file on the SD card (in binary format) and can take that contents and program it to the specified memory starting at a specified memory location. After writing it will automatically read the contents back as a separate operation and compare it to the file on the SD card to confirm the data was written properly. This all happens with one click execution, or one command over the USB remote interface.

The Remote Interface License enables the Panther Programmer to be controlled remotely over the USB port. It must be purchased if you want to control the programmer via LabVIEW or a different programming language from a PC. This is useful when the programmer is to be used in an automated production process. We provide the LabVIEW driver free of charge, but the remote license must be purchased to enable the programmer for remote use. We also provide a free standalone application here to use the programmer remotely.

When the Remote Interface License is purchased, it is distributed as a single license file that is loaded onto the SD card of the unit when shipped. If the license file is present on the SD card when the unit is powered on, the license is validated and the remote interface mode is activated on the unit. The license can always be purchased at a later time as an add-on and we will email the license file which you can copy to the unit's SD card, which will activate this feature without having to send it back to us.

The Remote Interface License is NOT required if you will just be using the touchscreen interface on the unit to read/write 1-Wire devices and don't need to control it via the USB port.

For reference, the forum for the Arduino Compatible Compiler for LabVIEW is handled on a separate site at http://www.geverywhere.com. To answer your question, there is an FAQ on geverywhere.com here.

Hope that helps.

Hi there.

Please refer to the product page on ni.com here. Basically, you would purchase a development license for use on the development machine. This is a named user license similar to LabVIEW meaning that you would purchase 1 seat for each developer. But each developer is entitled to install it on up to 3 machines but they cannot be used concurrently.

For the run-time systems, you would need to purchase 1 Deployment Seat per system. If you require a large quantity of deployment seats please contact us directly at sales@aledyne.com to discuss bulk licensing discounts.

Yes, the Touchscreen Toolkit will work with Windows 7 using an external touchscreen monitor as long as the monitor is plug and play with the Windows Touch driver. If you plug it in and the touchscreen works with the OS, then the Touchscreen Toolkit will be able to capture data from it.

Hope that answers your questions.

We have been evaluating the touchscreen toolkit and are curious about licensing options. What do we need to purchase in order to use this on a development machine and deploy it to a run-time executable to be used on various tablets for a production test fixture?

Also, will the toolkit only work with Windows 8 or also with Windows 7 and an external touchscreen monitor. We are not sure yet what OS we will use for the end system.

Thanks.
