We are excited to announce that Aledyne Engineering, Inc. has two products selected as 2015 LabVIEW Tools Network Award finalists, the Arduino Compatible Compiler for LabVIEW and Spreadsheet Express.  Winners will be selected during Alliance Day on Monday, August 3rd.  Drop by booth 1004 to see live demos and to get special product pricing during NIWeek.

The Arduino Compatible Compiler for LabVIEW will take a LabVIEW program and compile and download it to Arduino compatible targets.

The Touchscreen Toolkit for LabVIEW enables LabVIEW developers to enrich the user experience of their application by enabling multi-touch and gesture recognition.  A new feature now includes an interface to built-in sensors on Windows tablets including accelerometers, gyroscopes, inclinometers, orientation and light sensors.

Spreadsheet Express helps you automate Excel data processing from LabVIEW with ease.

Arduino Compatible Compiler for LabVIEW now includes I2C, SPI, and SD Card support!

We have great news to share! The most functionality rich version since product launch has been released.  Version 1.0.0.15 is now available for download in VI Package Manager and at http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/213121.

We are proud to announce that now the community can use the newly added SPI and I2C API VIs to take advantage of the hundreds of different Arduino I/O shields that use these two protocols as a way to communicate with Arduino boards. Moreover, we have included support for SD Card shields. We believe that, along with SPI and I2C, the ability to save log files to SD Card media will further enable the community to use Arduino hardware for test and measurement applications.  Also included are examples for interfacing to an SPI thermocouple module and an I2C Real-Time Clock.Palette

Last but not least, we have added a Debug Tool API VI, which simplifies the task of debugging embedded Arduino code. Refer to the shipping example for more details on how to take advantage of this tool. You can also refer to the release notes for a complete list of new features and bug fixes.

As always, we are continuing to work on increasing the product functionality set and will inform the community about any new upcoming releases.

Thank you again for all your support.  If you haven’t already, you can check out the user forum at www.geverywhere.com to get answers to commonly asked questions and to post new ones.

Arduino Compatible Compiler for LabVIEW – Update Week of 03/16

Hello Fellow Arduino and LabVIEW Enthusiasts!

First of all, we would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your constant support, encouragement, feedback and for sticking with us through the pre-release phase of the product. We are proud to announce that the wait is finally over! The Arduino Compatible Compiler for LabVIEW has been released and can be downloaded from VI Package Manager (VIPM). It will also be available on the National Instruments Tools Network at ni.com here for download later today or tomorrow at the latest.

The product comes with an evaluation period of seven days; during which one can download, install and run the product full featured. There are two product editions available; Home and Standard. If you are planning to use the product for either a home project (one in which you are not aiming any financial return) or for educational purposes, download and install the Home edition. If you are planning to use the product in a professional capacity (a project for your Company or a product you intend to sell); download and install the Standard edition.

We urge you to go through the product documentation and the shipping examples that are available and installed along with the product PRIOR to trying the compiler. Programming small embedded targets requires a different paradigm, especially when using LabVIEW, and we tailored the documentation and examples to make your life easier and to reduce your time to success.

We have also created a dedicated web site for support of the product at www.Geverywhere.com. You will find a support forum that we will use to answer support questions so the community can benefit from the shared knowledge; our mission and vision for where we would like to take the initiative of having Maker hardware available for Test and Measurement; and a link where you can purchase the product if/when you are ready to do so.

As a token of our appreciation for the support and encouragement received from you, we have generated a coupon code that will give you a 15% discount on the compiler. This offer is valid for the first two weeks after product launch and can only be redeemed if you purchase the compiler here. If you decide to do so, enter the word ARDUINO, all capital letters, in the discount code space that will be available as part of the purchase process. You also have the option to purchase the product directly from National Instruments at www.ni.com/labview-tools-network if you prefer, at its regular retail price.

Thank you again for all your support. We can’t wait to see what you will MAKE!

Arduino Compatible Compiler for LabVIEW – Update Week of 03/06

Hello Fellow Arduino and LabVIEW Enthusiasts!

We have wonderful news to share with the community today.

We are pleased to announce the Arduino Compatible Compiler for LabVIEW has successfully obtained National Instruments Compatible with LabVIEW certification and is now ready to be released on the NI LabVIEW Tools Network.

Also, we have defined pricing for the toolkit. As it was published on previous postings, we will have two editions available to the community. The Home Edition and the Standard Edition. The Home Edition is in support of the Maker movement as well as Academia. The Standard Edition is in support of the professional community that will use the compiler for professional projects. Both editions include the exact same functionality with the Home Edition priced at $99 and the Standard edition at $499.

The great news is the Home Edition can be used with any version of LabVIEW, if it is used for a home project. For example, if you have a licensed version of LabVIEW professional owned by your company, you are entitled to install that same version on your home computer for personal use.  You will then be able to install the Home Edition on your home computer provided that you only use it for home projects. If you intend to use the compiler on a project for your company or one you plan to achieve financial gain over, you will need to purchase the Standard Edition. This should allow the Maker community to have access to the compiler for a very affordable price!

We are now working out the last details of the support logistics and should be making the compiler available to the community within the next couple of weeks.

Thank you again for all your support!
